Purpose:
Goals: To Teach People Irish Social Dancing (depending on availability of an instructor and location) Offer beginning Céilí and set dance classes Offer practices for advanced dancers Offer dance workshops An opportunity for dancers to learn from authentic Irish dance masters An opportunity for instructor(s) to learn new material An opportunity for cultural exchange Provide instructional materials Written instructions for most common dances (Club booklet) Videos & DVD's Music CD’s Provide the historical context of Irish dancing Encourage dancers to attend ceilithe in other venues such as Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison. ! To Coordinate With Other Celtic Organizations - promoting our common interestsProvide information about other Irish dance venues (Chicago, Milwaukee, etc.) Participate in St. Patrick’s Society events Participate in the Celtic Highland Games of the Quad Cities Maintain a contact with the Celtic Heritage Trail (CHeT) ! Present the Club to the Community through ! To Host Dances - (Depending on the availability of a caller and location)Dances may utilize live or recorded music Provide an opportunity to utilize learned dance skills Provide an opportunity to hear good traditional Irish music Provide an opportunity to meet and socialize with others of the same interest Provide a venue for the area’s traditional Irish entertainers to perform !
